At the final quarter of 2017, Mount Agung started to erupt. Though located far away from where we are, it created some havoc, especially when the Airport was closed for several days in the last days of November, right before Jennifer & Michael’s wedding.
In Bali, we relied our flower supplies from different parts of the Island and we get the imported flowers from mainly Holland and South America. That created a worrying situation, but we can also imagine the bigger headache Jen and Michael, as well as their families had. As this was a destination wedding, it meant many guests of theirs were flying in from different part of the world too.
When Jen texted me that the wedding would go on, ignoring the airport situation, I had to find a solution to ensure we were able to get the flowers by all means.
That was one brave decision ! Jennifer picked an all-white classic color for her, which was a perfect palette since it’s near to Christmas time and also to co-celebrate the spirit of Christmas 🙂 or what we think it could be. So in order to create different depth, we added champagne and light grey to the palette. We hand calligraphed each guests name on natural tile stone and when the candles are lit, it looked unbelievably elegant and magical. Congrats to Jen & Michael. We will remember this wedding always. It was sweet and beautiful, and we loved nibbling at your cookies !
